In Hamilton Semen analysis is only done in the West End Clinic Centre for Reproductive Care.  Regular MDS labs will NOT process these samples.  The West End clinic is located at the following address:

You must book an appointment ahead of time, call 905-521-2100 extension 75080.  You will need your health card to book the appointment.

You must abstain from all sexual activity (intercourse, masturbation, etc.) for a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7 days before you collect your specimen.  Failure to do so will result in an inaccurate assessment of your semen.

Specimens should be collected in a sealed, sterile urine (orange top) specimen container provided by your doctor.  Keep the container at body temperature (under your arm) during transport from your home to the West-End clinic.  If you live a considerable distance from the West-End Clinic (driving time > 30 minutes) you should not collect your specimen at home, but instead come to the clinic at use one of the specimen retrieval rooms there.
